SYNOPSIS
"Candombe" reflex the lifestyle of the afro-Uruguayan culture present in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay. This culture comes from African slaves that were brought to the coast of Rio de la Plata; wich now a days live in a very particular environment of music and dance all along the year.

Their music is based on drum beat and their dances are represented by a serious of typical characters (“ La mama vieja” “El escobero” and  “El gramillero”) the film gets deep into the world of this people and their most important and distinguish figures. In this journey we are guide with the voice and poetry of the renowned painter “Carlos Páez Vilaró”.
